  18.   Fractals are bizarre mathematical objects possessing an infinitely 
  19.   detailed structure. Fractal geometry has become increasingly popular in 
  20.   recent years because it often does a better job of modeling nature than 
  21.   ordinary high school geometry.

  23.   FractalWeave is an image generator which uses fractal-based patterns
  24.   to construct scenes of astonishing complexity and beauty. By varying a 
  25.   small number of parameters, you can create a practically infinite 
  26.   variety of stunning images.

  51. INSTALLATION

  53.   To install FractalWeave, simply copy the above files into any 
  54.   convenient directory. Sample commands are given below.

  56.   Installing from a distribution disk in drive A: to a directory on C:
  57.  
  58.     C:                          ; change to C drive
  59.     CD \                        ; change to root directory
  60.     MD FRACWIN                  ; create a new directory off root
  61.     CD FRACWIN                  ; change to the new directory
  62.     COPY A:*.*                  ; copy the files
  63.  
  64.   Installing from a ZIP file in C:\DOWNLOAD to a directory on C:
  65.  
  66.     CD \                        ; change to root directory
  67.     MD FRACWIN                  ; create a new directory off root
  68.     CD FRACWIN                  ; change to the new directory
  69.     COPY \DOWNLOAD\FRCWIN.ZIP   ; copy zip file
  70.     PKUNZIP FRCWIN              ; unarchive the files
  71.     DEL FRCWIN.ZIP              ; delete copy of archive

  73.   Once the directory has been created, create a new Program Item for 
  74.   FractalWeave in one of your Windows groups:

  76.     1. Select the Windows group to which you wish to add FractalWeave.
  77.     2. Select File | New from the Program Manager Menu.
  78.     3. Select Program Item and press <Enter> or select OK.
  79.     4. Fill in the Program Item Properties Box. For example, if the
  80.        program files are in the C:\FRACWIN directory, you would enter
  81.         
  82.         Description: FractalWeave for Windows
  83.         Command Line: FRACWIN
  84.         Working Directory: C:\FRACWIN
  85.         Shortcut Key: None
  86.  
  87.     5.  Press <Enter> or select OK to close the dialog box.

  89.   For additional help, choose "Search for Help On" from the Program 
  90.   Manager Help menu, and search for the topic "program items, creating".

  92.   Detailed information about using the program is provided in the
  93.   on-line help.  To access the on-line help, select an item from the
  94.   program's Help menu, or press the F1 key.  (If a menu item is 
  95.   highlighted, pressing F1 displays on-line help for that menu item,
  96.   otherwise the Help Contents screen is displayed.)

  110. FractalWeave is a shareware program. You may copy and distribute it
  111. freely, and use it without charge for a period of 30 days. If you
  112. continue to use the program beyond the initial evaluation period,
  113. please register it.

  115. Registration entitles you to technical support in the program's use, 
  116. notice of and reduced price for any upgrades, and that warm feeling of
  117. personal satisfaction that comes from doing the proper and noble
  118. thing.

  120. The registration fee for FractalWeave is $19.95 (US). As a
  121. registration bonus, the companion FractalSave Screen Saver program is
  122. included free with registration of FractalWeave. DOS versions of both
  123. programs are also available.
